Be part of the ELMUN GenSec!

After this year’s ELMUN conference has come to an end, we are now looking for our new Deputies. As in ELMUN, the highest student leadership positions are the ones of the Secretary General and the President of the General Assembly. Furthermore, we are establishing the position of Conference Manager.

Now you have the chance to become a member of next year’s ELMUN General Secretariat! In order for you to complete your application, we would like you to write a motivational letter consisting of 500 words (please state the position you are applying for). By that, we will have the chance to get to know you better and decide which position might be most suitable for you. The applications will be open until 16th June 2019 and must be sent to this E-Mail (info.elmun@gmail.com).

The GenSec carries a high amount of responsibility – we take care of the organization for the entire conference! Deputies and the Conference Manager must be hard-working and organized, but most importantly a team-player. Before the conference starts, we are the ones that choose the Chairs, determine all delegations and find sponsors for ELMUN. To conclude, we are the people behind ELMUN.

For the positions of the Deputy of the Secretary General and President of the General Assembly only 10th graders will be accepted, whereas for the position of the Conference Manager both – 10th and 11th graders - are invited to apply.

Here are further informations on the different positions:

The Secretary General The Secretary General and the Deputy Secretary General oversee and ensure the smooth running of the conference. The SG is the highest student authority at the conference and his/her decisions on the agenda, the schedule and the correct application of the rules will be final. Together with the President and the CM, he/she finds rooms, in which the conference can be held.

The President of the General Assembly The President of the General Assembly and his/her Deputy moderate the debate in the GA and make sure it follows the agenda. He/she coaches the Chairs and together with the SG chooses the Chair Team and Delegations.

Conference Manager The Conference Manager organizes the conference alongside the Secretary General, the President of the General Assembly and the MUN-directors. The CM coordinates the Press and Administrative Team. Furthermore, the funding of the conference and the advertisement (incl. social media) are one of the main responsibilities. This position has the particular focus on organisation.
